IASbet take on Denman in Australian Guineas

Denman

Form analysts at IASbet.com believe that the Peter Snowden trained superstar Denman is vulnerable in Saturday’s Group One Australian Guineas and are prepared to take him on.

While other bookmakers and the TAB have him between $1.55 and $1.65, IASbet.com is willing and able to lay him at $1.80.

“It’s not a foregone conclusion, there is rain forecast and the race may well be set up for horses to run over him. I expect Denman to lead from his outside barrier and it may not be an advantage to be on the rail” said IASBet’s John Dow.

The son of Lonhro has won nine of his last ten with his only defeat being at the same distance in the Caulfield Guineas. “I think history is about to repeat itself.” said Dow.

Bet on the Aussie Dollar

Online bookmaker Sportsbet have released a range of betting markets on how the Australian Dollar will fare against the major currencies this year. Punters can predict what heights the Aussie Dollar will reach against the Pound, the Euro and the US Dollar in January, and for the whole of 2010.

“Our analysts believe the Australian Dollar is in for a very good year, particularly against the Greenback,” said Sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane.

“Odds for the Australian Dollar reaching parity with the US Dollar in 2010 opened in November at $3.00, ballooned out to $6.75 on New Year’s Day and is now into $4.50 on the back of strong betting over the past week.

“We’re less bullish on the Aussie Dollar reaching 60 pence this year. Punters wishing to cheer on the Dollar against the Pound can get $6.00 on this happening.”

Sportsbet.com.au has also opened betting on the next RBA Interest Rate decision, scheduled for February 2.

“On the back of recent strong economic data, we’ve now installed a 0.25 percent rise as a $1.50 favourite, with $2.00 on offer for rates to remain unchanged and $15.00 on a half a percent rise,” said Lane.
