Harness racing is one of three forms of racing in Australia and it very popular, with many race meetings held around the country daily. It is a unique form of racing, as it is not held in every country. It is particularly popular in Australasia and in Scandanavia.

Harness racing season starts on September 1st in Australia and runs for 12 months. There are several big races on the calendar which are extremely popular such as the Inter Dominion, Miracle Mile, Hunter Cup and Australasian Breeders Crown to name a few, along side the major country cups.
